Akwa Ibom: I Regret ‘Imposing’ Emmanuel On The People — Akpabio

A former governor of Akwa Ibom State and former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio has said that he is remorseful for having the Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel “imposed” on the state.

Akpabio and Emmanuel

Akpabio, who represents Akwa Ibom North West in the Senate, made the supposedly confessional statement before a crowd at Ikot Ekpene Plaza. This was on returning from his mother-in-law’s burial at Enugu on Sunday evening.

The former governor saw Emmanuel, who was Secretary to the State Government before the 2015, as one of the greatest mistakes he indecisively made and should be forgiven for that.

According to him, “Udom (Emmanuel) is a mistake that must be corrected in 2019. All hands must be on deck to ensure that the mistake is corrected for a people-oriented leadership under the ruling All Progressives Congress at the centre. Emmanuel’s administration has failed the people.”

  1. I do love the manner in which you have presented this particular problem and it does offer me some fodder for consideration. However, through what precisely I have observed, I basically trust as other commentary stack on that people today continue to be on issue and not start upon a tirade of some other news of the day. Still, thank you for this outstanding piece and though I can not agree with it in totality, I respect the perspective.
